Budapest was probably the most scenic and beautiful city I visited during my trip. This city is split in half by the Danube river. One the west is Buda, the more medieval side where castles, cathedrals, and ruins perched upon beautiful hills and mountains. On the east was Pest, which contains both the government and financial districts of the city. Overall, Budapest was a city full of fascinating World War II and Communist history as well as a great modern feel.
I added below some of my favorite views of the cityscape and include photos of Chain Bridge, the Danube, Pest from the top of St. Stephens Church (the home of his mummified hand), and Heroes Square.
